Gaga for Gaga

Baby I was born this way, baby I was born this way, baby I was born this wayyyy! Ask Thomas and he will tell you I've lost it! I am absolutely gaga for Lady Gaga's first single "Born this Way" off her latest album that is out May 23rd! I've always been a huge Lady Gaga fan and I am really kicking myself for not going to see her in concert this past fall when she was in Charlotte, NC, but at $110 per ticket, I talked myself out of it. Why????

My sweet girlfriends, well maybe just one girlfriend, promised that she will book a private Lady Gaga concert for me for my bachelorette party! I didn't know my friends were millionaires and holding out on me, but hey a private Lady Gaga concert with my best friends, I'll take it! Good thing I don't have a ring on my finger so they have plenty of time to save up!

Are you gaga for Gaga??? I think of her as our modern day Madonna and I lovvve old school Madonna, who doesn't?

Will You Be Watching?

The Grammy's are by far my favorite award show! Tonight is the big night, the show begins at 8pm on CBS. Will you be tuning in? What I really enjoy about the Grammy's compared to say the Oscars and the Emmy's is that there are performances. It's basically one long concert of all your favorite artists, what more could you ask for? It's boring to me to watch three hour award shows of crying, drunk celebrities rambling on thanking people we've never even heard of! Not to mention, I'm not a huge movie or TV watcher. So are you ready? I am!!! I'm not wishing the weekend away, but if the weekend has to come to an end, there is nothing better on a Sunday night then the Grammy's to distract me from having a case of the Monday's a day early.

Christmas Favorites: Music & Movies Edition

I think it's safe to say we all have favorite Christmas music and movies? As you can see my list is quite outdated but so what? I'm not afraid to admit that N*Sync Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays puts a huge smile on my face!
Music:
Mariah Carey- All I want for Christmas is You
N*Sync-Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
Michael Buble- Let it Snow Christmas CD
Tran-Siberian Orchestra
Taylor Swift-Sounds of the Season

*I listen to Pandora R&B/Pop Christmas Music station almost every day at work and they play such a variety of Christmas music and I love almost every song they play. Give the station a try, I bet it will make your work day or any day for that matter that much better!

Movies:
Home Alone
Christmas with the Kranks
Santa Clause 1 & 2
The Polar Express

I absolutely can't get enough of Home Alone (the first one). One of my favorite lines: "Buzz's girlfriend? Woof!" The Polar Express is an amazing movie for children and adults alike. Did you know the movie is based off the children's book? It was one of my favorite books as a child and it would make a special gift for your own children or of course someone elses.

What are some of your favorite Christmas music and movies?

Just Another Manic Monday

Manic Monday by The Bangles describes exactly how I have been feeling the past few week day mornings and unfortunately not just on Monday's. Any one want to join me and sing along? Here it goes...

Manic Monday by The Bangles

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time
'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday...

Wishing each of you a very happy Monday!

John Mayer in Concert

For my birthday Thomas got us tickets to see Train and John Mayer in concert at the Amphitheatre in Charlotte. We had the best time and John Mayer is just as amazing in concert as he has always been. I have seen John Mayer in concert twice before in his early days a musician. Of course we all know how talented of a musician he truly is, but something you don't know about him until you see him in concert is his great sense of humor! He is one of the few musicians that I can honestly say sounds just as good live as he does on the radio, now that is what I call talent! Below are a few of the photos Thomas snapped for me, I was too short to reach over people's heads to take pictures, I hope you enjoy!

For the encore he sang at the very back of the amphitheatre in the middle of the crowd sitting on the lawn! I think it goes without saying, but the crowd went nuts!

Happy Monday!

Can't Get Enough

Over the weekend I bought Eric Church's album "Carolina" off of iTunes. I was already familiar with two of Eric Church's songs "Love your Love the Most" and "Hell on the Heart" from hearing them on the radio, but I didn't know both songs were by the same artist! There's something about Eric's tone of voice and the lyrics of his songs that puts a huge smile on my face. The entire album was great company while I cleaned my house over the weekend and I've been hooked ever since!

Leeward Fate

So here's a neat story for you. My cousin, Tom, moved to St. Kitts two years ago after marrying his wife Rachael who was attending veterinary school on the island. Tom has played the drums ever since I can remember and has been a part of several bands throughout his journey, but for different reasons they never stayed together for very long.

It was soon after Tom settled in on the island of St. Kitts that he met Daniel and Jack, two guys attending nursing school on the island at an open mic night. Call it what you will, but I truly believe this was fate for Tom, Daniel, and Jack as introductions like these don't come around that often. According to their website, it wasn't long after they met before they were producing original music under the name Leeward Fate. Their unique sound is compared to Jack Johnson, Switchfoot, and maybe some Dave Matthews Band.

Two years later after recording their debut album on a Caribbean Island, they have moved back to the States and have re-recorded their debut album, released it on iTunes and Amazon and have scheduled several dates for their US Summer Tour. Check Leeward Fate out on the web, preview their music and see if you can catch them on the road this summer when they come to a city near you!

I couldn't be more proud of my cousin Tom, Daniel and Jack who I have yet to meet, but I will hopefully have a that chance this summer when I meet up with them on tour. There is nothing more important to me then my family and their success. I truly believe Leeward Fate's dream is coming true!
